The Changing Goals of U.S. Schools
With a new government, a changing economy and an increasingly global
outlook, American society is currently transitioning through a period of
change. These changes present an
opportunity for teachers and scholars to (re)visit the purpose of schools in
the United States. What is the
purpose of American education and how has the function of American schooling
changed throughout history?
